The version 2.0 of nitrobit policy extensions offers data loss prevention with group policies.
New volume access policies can control access to data and helps to protect corporate networks from leaking confidential information.
The new policies allow to define access to USB flash drives, hard disks and network drives. Apart from a base access rule, you can define path- and device exception rules. You can grant access to USB flash drives to a defined group of users, or restrict access to external hard disks to readonly.
The new version is now available on 64-Bit systems.

nitrobit manages group policies fast, easy - and without extra configuration efforts through its new LDAP-Integration.
The new version 2.1 has now been released. One of the most important new feature of the new version is the integrated LDAP-Server. It offers full group policy functionality without an external LDAP Directory. Thus, nitrobit group policy can be used directly within every Samba environment. Furthermore, the new version works out of the box with with MAC OS X-Servers and within Novell eDirectory environments.
Another new feature of the new release is the Forecast and Logging-Center. With logging, it is easy to check which group policy settings applied to a user or computer. Forecasts simplify development and testing of new policies. The new, improved nitrobit group policy editor ensures faster and intuitive administration.

Group policies are an important tool for the central Windows-PC management. The new product nitrobit policy extensions is an add-on for the group policy system and provides new functions. Those functions so far needed self-scripting or manual customization of the user configuration.
Since the group policy client can be installed directly through a group policy, it is very easy and fast to integrate the software into an existing environment.

A new version of nitrobit group policy - our solution to bring group policies to samba-domains - has been released. It has new features regarding software management: As in previous releases nitrobit group policy supports assigning software packets to users and computers, which are installed at log-on. Additionally the new release supports publishing software packets. Users can install the published software directly from the network with the add-remove-programms control panel applet. In order to find needed software quickly, nitrobit group policy also allows to organize software-packets into different categories. Furthermore the version has been adjusted to the actual Windows Vista (codenamed Longhorn) Beta 1.

Hanau, February 3rd 2005 - Nitrobit group policy 1.2. is now available. To its new featurers belong additional functions for the assignment of group policies to users and computers.
Those include special group-types like IP-Groups, that are able to describe IP-Networks as well as RegEx-groups, that can - with the aid of regular expressions - put computers and users into groups.
Furthermore there are new functions to control the execution of group policy objects. Apart from the standard function exists a deny- as well as a mandatory function for groups.
Being able to set up intersections allow the assignment of group policiy objects in every desired combination. This is a major advantage - especially for large enterprises with complex structures.
Another new feature is that the group policy client can be managed by group policies. Administratores thus have an easy access to all client-parameters.
